INTRODUCTION
SISV has appointed a training co-ordinator, GPS Lands Pte Ltd to conduct the abovementioned course.

This Course will enable participants from the Construction and Surveying industry to acquire or enhance both theoretical and practical skills in the basic aspects of land surveying through Levelling, Traversing and Basic Survey Computations. It also help to ensure that site supervisors, survey technicians and clerk-of-works, who have successfully completed the course, are able to service their clients with a higher standard of service.

SCHEDULE OF COURSE

COURSE CONTENTS
The course covers levelling and total station instrument use and adjustment, misclose distribution, Angle-Bearing-Angle conversion and revision of trigonometry concepts. Introduction to coordinates and explanation of the common survey computations for close and area are also covered.

Candidates are given practical project work, e.g. closed traverse, series levelling loop and are assessed on both the conduct and results of their work.

The syllabus and structure are subject to revision without prior notice to reflect current changes in technique or technology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
(1) Minimum of 1 GCE ‘O’ Level credit; OR
(2) 3 GCE ‘N’ level; OR
(3) NITEC

COURSE DURATION
The course comprises 12 lectures and 11 practical sessions. There is an examination at the end of the course. Successful candidates will be awarded a "Certificate of Successful Completion" at the end of the whole course.

Total Course Duration: 78 Hours (2 weeknights of 3 hours each & 1 Saturday of 4 hours - over 8 weeks)

Participants are required to achieve 75% attendance in total in order to qualify for a ‘Certificate of Attendance’ as well as to sit for the examination. The final written examination will be held at the end of the course.

Assessment weightage is 40% of the practical project work and 60% of the written final examination.

WITHDRAWAL AND DEFERMENT
No refund will be made and no request for deferment will be granted unless written notice is given no less than (7) days prior to the course commencement.

SISV & GPS Lands reserve the right to amend the course details, revise the course fee without prior notice, to cancel, postpone or change the venue of the course in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.
