 We are pleased to inform that the above-mentioned course will commence on 11th Aug 2008.  Lectures will be conducted as stated in the schedule from 7.00 pm – 9:30pm (unless otherwise stated) .   

The Course will comprise 12 lecturers and 3 mock examinations.  The course fee and Ceha exam will be $800.00 (incl of 7% GST), course materials provided (non transferable, non-refundable).

This class will prepare participants for the Common Exam For House Agents (CEHA) in Oct 2008. The duration of this course takes into consideration adequate time required by the participants to comprehend and digest the information delivered at the lectures, thereby equipping them with confidence for the examination.

INTRODUCTION
In its continuing efforts to achieve its objectivves, the Institute organises courses and seminars which have met with tremendous response from the relevant industries and general public.

One such course is the Real Estate Agency Course, which has gained enthusiastic support and endorsement since the very batch in 1984. This course is organised by the Valuation and General Practice Division of the Institute.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The Real Estate Agency Course aims to train estate agents as well as upgrade the present standard of agency in Singapore.

It helps to ensure that an estate agent who has successfully completed the course is able to service his clients in a more professional manner and provide a higher standard of service.

The course also aims to give aspiring estate agents a general knowledge of the industry and to prepare them to take Common Examination for House Agents (CEHA). A pass in the CEHA will be a pre-requisite for those wishing to apply for a House Agent’s Licence under the Auctioneer’s & Licensing Act. The CEHA is to cater HDB’s requirement that the Agency staff of all firms listed under Listed Housing Agency Scheme (LHAS) are to pass this Examination.

COURSE CONTENTS / COMMENCEMENT
With effect from 2004, the Real Estate Agency Course will comprise 12 lectures and 3 mock examination. The twelve lectures are divided into three cores namely : (1) Law of Real Property; (2) Real Estate Marketing; and (3) Professional Practice and Management.

The syllabus and structure are subject to revision without prior notice to reflect current market and legislative changes.

The course is conducted once or twice week, from 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm on weekdays.

  • Must possess a minimum qualification of 3 GCE ‘O’ levels (obtained in one examination). Photocopy of certificate must be submiited upon registration.

  1. Applicant must be at 21 years old at the time of registration
  2. Must possess at least 3 GCE “O” Level credits in one sitting. Photocopy of certificate.
  3. Fee is one time payment. Cheque should be made payable to “Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers”
  4. Application form must be completed and attached together with 1 recent passport size photograph, photocopy of NRIC (front & back)
  5. The Institute reserves the right to re-schedule or swap the dates if the need arises
  6. An administrative charge of 50% of course fee will be charged for withdrawals received in writing.

ATTENDANCE
As this course is designed for maximum interaction between the candidates and the lecturers, a candidate is therefore required to attend all the lectures.
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all participants who have achieved at least 75% of the attendance of this course.
AWARD OF "CERTIFIED REAL ESTATE AGENT" CERTIFICATE
Applicant for the Award of the “Certified Real Estate Agent” (CREA®) Certificate by the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers must
 
  1. be at least 21 years of age at the time of application;

  2. possess a (Common Examination for House Agents) CEHA Certificate

  3. have at least two years of local relevant practical training and experience in estate agency work preferably trained by a licensed appraiser or a CREA®; and

  4. be of good character and reputation.
 
An applicant who is successful for the award of the CREA® Certificate is entitled to use the symbol CREA® after his name
The CREA® symbol is the hallmark of a professional estate agent.
 
A Certified Real Estate Agent must adhere to the CREA® Code of Conduct and Ethics. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action taken against him.
